Instructions

Please follow the instructions below if you are using our product

 

Article dry weight Sachets of dye Boiling water Table salt

250 1 6ℓ 200g
For Group 2 materials: In addition to the above instructions, add 30mℓ household vinegar to the solution.

a) Before dyeing, make sure of fabric type; not suitable for polyester or acrylic fabrics.
b) Any material to be dyed must be washed thoroughly prior to dyeing.
c) For wool, maximum temperature must not exceed75-80°C.
d) For poly-cotton mixtures, use 2 sachets of dye.
e) Dyed articles must always be washed separately.
f ) When dyeing over a darker colour, bleach the item first to achieve best results.

Method

Follow our step by step guide

Hot Dyeing:

  1. In a rust proof container dissolve dye completely in required amount of boiling water, then add salt and stir until dissolved.
  2. Immerse clean, wet article in solution. Simmer on stove for 20 minutes keeping article
    submerged.
  3. Rinse in cold water until article is clean.

Cold Dyeing:

Follow all above instructions, but don’t simmer on stove. (Cold dyeing yields lighter shades)

Washing Machine Dyeing:

PLEASE NOTE:

Do not dye silk or wool in washing machine.

**Plastic parts on machine may become discoloured. After dyeing, thoroughly wash
machine with hot water, washing powder & 1 cup household bleach.

  1. Set machine on hottest and longest programme without pre-wash.
  2. **Dissolve dye in 500ml of boiling water, using not less than 2 sachets of dye and place in drum, or add dye solution to soap dispenser.
  3. Place clean, wet article in machine.
  4. Start machine and after approximately 2 minutes, add salt to soap dispenser.
  5. After washing cycle has completed, remove article.
For Group 2 materials: In addition to the above instructions, add a minimum of 80mℓ household vinegar.
